The Quarry Safety Standard
We built The Quarry MotoPark around one idea: families should be able to ride hard and go home safe. Here's what that looks like on the ground.
On-site medical & EMT
Trained medical staff on site during operating hours. Every rider's HealthQR is on file so responders have what they need in seconds.
Track light system
A track-wide signal every rider learns before riding. “Light it up Yellow” means caution — a rider is down or the track is slowing. “Lock it down” means stop now.
Mandatory gear checks
Helmet, goggles, boots, and body protection are checked at the gate before your wristband. No gear, no ride — no exceptions.
Verified insurance
Accident coverage is verified before you ride. We’ll point you to trusted brokers if you need supplemental accident insurance.
HealthQR for everyone
A private medical QR on every wristband — allergies, conditions, and emergency contacts available to our medical crew the moment they need them.
Certified & cleared
Every rider completes safety certification, signs the participation agreement, and clears a rider attestation before the gate turns green.
Speed-matched gates
Every rider runs a transponder. Your practice lap times set your pace, and race gates are built from equivalent pace — one gate drop per race, no fast bike closing on a slow one.
Know the lights
The light system is how the whole track communicates at once. Learn it before your first session — it keeps everyone moving safely.
Nobody lines up against a bike that's 20 seconds a lap faster
The most dangerous moment in motocross isn't the jump — it's a fast rider arriving on a slow one, at a jump face, at closing speed. Track-safety experts call it the speed differential, and keeping like-speed riders together is the promoter's job. We do it with data instead of guesswork.
Every rider runs a transponder
Practice and race — no exceptions. Rentals are $25 at the gate if you don’t own one.
Practice laps set your pace
Your mandatory practice day is timed. We take the median of your fastest clean laps, so one hero lap or one crash doesn’t define you.
Gates are built from pace, not class names
Riders within a few percent of each other share a gate — classes combined, scored separately. One gate drop per race, no waves, no lapped traffic.
The rules the gates never break
- • Minis and e-moto never share a gate with full-size bikes, whatever the lap times.
- • Riders under 18 don't line up on adult gates.
- • No rider is placed on a gate without practice laps on file, or an honest class average when they're new.
- • Every gate shows the rule that built it, so staff can see why — and override by hand when judgment says so.
Why we built it this way: European competition data across 15,870 riders put motocross injuries at 94.5 per 1,000 starts, with collisions among the leading mechanisms (Gobbi et al., 2004). Expert track-safety guidance identifies the expert-on-novice speed differential as a primary collision risk and places the duty to keep like skill levels together on the promoter. Traditional A/B/C ability classing relies on self-declaration or peer grading; pace from a transponder is the objective version of the same idea.
Green means go
Before your first ride, you'll complete certification, sign the participation agreement, add your HealthQR, and clear a quick attestation — all from your phone. When everything checks out, your gate status turns green and you roll straight through.
